Google has an Application called "Friend Connect" which is a way to add a social network to a regular website ..... allowing visitors to join a group and collaborate.
On some of the Shambles pages you will see references to a "Shambles" Friend Connect network .... with the opportunity to join the group.

I'm not yet quite sure how this will benefit visitors that join or benefit the Shambles website ... but it now exists on some pages which will allow the service to be evaluated.
There should be a link along the bottom of this web browser for you to try out.

Beyond the Call of Duty www.bangkokpost.com/life/education
27th January 2009 David Canavan, Head of Secondary at Garden International School in Sathon, Thailand, rescued a 3 metre python that had been occupying a drain in the school's car park.
The reticulated python was sent to the Red Cross Snake Farm to lead a safe and happy life.
David also writes a regular column in the Bangkok post every Tuesday under the heading of "The Chingchok Hunter"
Applicants applying for senior management positions overseas are advised to read carefully the small print in their job descriptions.

Coincidentally
Coincidentally I had a much smaller snake in my own garden in March... and (to my shame) did not deal with it so humanely. (listen to the commentary)

I'm guessing that you have already heard of "Twitter" the web application described as "Micro-Blogging" ... personally I think this is the completely wrong description ... and it would be better described as "Micro-Instant Messenging" ... in 140 characters.

Diploma in Applied ICT www.ieaward.com
The Diploma in Applied ICT from IEAward is new kind of ICT course that rewards students for what they can do rather than penalising them for things they can't do.
The course is fully validated by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) so students will receive certificates from CIE.
The course is essentially content free, giving teachers and students complete freedom to work on areas that interest them. The IEA philosophy emphasises a collaborative approach whilst encouraging students to take responsibility for their own education. There are no written examinations in the course and students are assessed through an online digital portfolio representing the solution to a real-world problem that they have chosen to work on.
IEAwards was set up by three experienced ICT/Computer Studies teachers in Hong Kong.
