For
SRD to be successfully
introduced within a school, the following conditions should be met:
- the
creation of a supportive collegiate culture within which staff are valued
and encouraged to develop practice through processes of critical reflection
- a
clear understanding of the aims and policies of the Foundation and the School
by all staff
- the
establishment of clear job descriptions and job specfications for all staff
- the
establishment of records that provide factual information about teachers'
work e.g. classes
taught, activities provided, INSET attended, service on committees
- the
establishment of SRD as a priority on the School's development plan
- the
appointment of an SRD co-ordinator in the School
- the
provision of approprate training for all staff
