Climate Setting


For SRD to be successfully introduced within a school, the following conditions should be met:

  1. the creation of a supportive collegiate culture within which staff are valued and encouraged to develop practice through processes of critical reflection
  2. a clear understanding of the aims and policies of the Foundation and the School by all staff
  3. the establishment of clear job descriptions and job specfications for all staff
  4. the establishment of records that provide factual information about teachers' work e.g. classes taught, activities provided, INSET attended, service on committees
  5. the establishment of SRD as a priority on the School's development plan
  6. the appointment of an SRD co-ordinator in the School
  7. the provision of approprate training for all staff
