National Academic Library Statistics USA
http://www.lrs.org/aca_nat.asp
National Academic Library Statistics USA
Biennial statistics on U.S. academic libraries are available from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Data are collected by NCES with the support of the American Library Association, the U.S. Census Bureau's Division of Governments, the U.S. National Commission on Libraries and Information Science (NCLIS), and a network of state-level Library Representatives. The biennial NCES report on U.S. academic libraries provides data for each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia as well as the nation as a whole. It also summarizes these data for public and private institutions, by enrollment, degree-granting level, and Carnegie classification. Major data categories include: outlets, staffing, expenditures, collections, electronic services, library visits (gate count), circulation, reference questions, and resource sharing/interlibrary loan.

Telling the Library Story Tool Kit

Telling the Library Story Tool Kit
Everyone has a dream...and libraries help dreams come true. Libraries are also the souls of our communities. They are a respite from a stressful world. They provide entertainment while also serving as lifelong learning centers. Libraries open the world to children and introduce them to the joy of reading. Libraries reflect and help strengthen the economic health of communities as well as the people who use them.
... to help libraries explain the value they bring to their communities.

Library Media - Developing Educational Standards (USA)
http://edstandards.org/StSu/Library.html
Library Media - Developing Educational Standards (USA)
Good teachers have standards in mind when they set their lessons up, where the idea of a "standard" represents a specific idea of what the teacher expects a student to recall, replicate, manipulate, understand, or demonstrate at some point down the road - and of how the teacher will know how close a student has come to meeting that standard. Standards, in other words, are conceptually nothing new - though we do seem to keep reinventing them.
We have established this page as a repository for as much information about educational standards and curriculum frameworks from all sources (national, state, local, and other) as can be found on the Internet.
