Technical Support Assessment
The technical support assessment has been developed by Becta's Technical Support Advisory Service and aims to help schools assess their current technical support provision whether provided by in-school ICT staff or by an external provider. To complete the assessment Leaders may require the assistance of the person responsible for managing the ICT infrastructure.
The assessment defines all processes, or activities, that should be carried for efficient and effective ICT infrastructure management and technical support. These processes have been divided into the four key areas of technical support provision being strategic, change, proactive and reactive. By assessing your current technical support provision you will be able to see gaps or areas for improvement.

Technical Competencies Framework
Self assessment tool for ICT Technicians working in schools
This framework is concerned with competences specifically related to ICT technical support. It does not deal with the more generic competences relevant to any member of the school workforce.
It is designed as a self assessment tool for individuals to identify the skills they have and the skills they need to gain to perform their role. (It may also be of use to schools in identifying their skills requirements).
A summary of an individual's assessment, in the 12 areas, is produced at the end and can be printed.
