Media Smart : Canada's Centre for Digital and Media Literacy
MediaSmarts is a Canadian not-for-profit charitable organization for digital and media literacy. Our vision is that children and youth have the critical thinking skills to engage with media as active and informed digital citizens.
MediaSmarts has been developing digital and media literacy programs and resources for Canadian homes, schools and communities since 1996. Through our work we support adults with information and tools so they can help children and teens develop the critical thinking skills they need for interacting with the media they love.

Common Sense Media
http://www.commonsensemedia.org
We are the (USA) nation's leading independent nonprofit advocating for kids
Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology.
We exist because our nation's children spend more time with media and digital activities than they do with their families or in school, which profoundly impacts their social, emotional, and physical development . As a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, we provide trustworthy information and tools, as well as an independent forum, so that families can have a choice and a voice about the media they consume.

The Media Education Foundation
http://www.mediaed.org/
The Media Education Foundation produces and distributes video documentaries to encourage critical thinking and debate about the relationship between media ownership, commercial media content, and the democratic demand for free flows of information, diverse representations of ideas and people, and informed citizen participation.
With approximately 50 videos and a wealth of free educational resources addressing a range of political, economic and socio-cultural issues, MEF provides students, educators, activists and the general public with the tools and vocabulary required to examine how global media conglomerates shape a highly restrictive set of corporate principles that are undermining the way we educate our young people and ourselves, and therefore our founding democratic principles of freedom, fairness and social justice.
