Hanoi International School opened in October 1996. It is located on one of the main boulevards of Hanoi, in the prestigious Ba Dinh District, close to diplomatic missions and expatriate residences. The newly renovated campus is in a secure setting and includes a well-endowed library, state-of-the-art computer center, well-equipped science laboratories and playgrounds, and we have the use of adjoining sports facilities.
All teachers are certified and experienced expatriates from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and continental Europe. Teachers have an average of ten years' international school experience.
The school's curriculum is international and the medium of instruction is English. In the high school, the IGCSE and the IB Diploma programs are offered. Classes are kept to a maximum of 15 students to allow more teacher time per pupil.
Students study French and Vietnamese and are able to pursue first language and literature studies in Korean, Japanese, French and other languages. Students whose native language is not English are enrolled in the ESL program and provision is made for children with mild learning disabilities.
